Cotton Cloud is both a painting and a sculptural experience. The artist hand-placed fine cotton fibers onto the acrylic surface, shaping them into cloud formations that seem to lift lightly from the canvas. Each piece of cotton was arranged to follow the natural movement of air, creating a texture that invites touch as much as sight.
The inspiration came from the artist's daily habit of observing clouds above the shoreline of White Rock. To her, cotton and clouds share a quiet kinship — both soft, light, and fleeting. Through this work, she sought to capture that comforting presence: the way clouds can feel close enough to hold, and yet remain unreachable.
The result is a work that feels alive with tenderness — a sky one can almost touch, echoing the warmth and calm of a bright coastal day.
